The Chicago-based experimental tape label Lillerne Tapes has had a great track record of releasing droney slow-burners. The latest tape by Gelatin Kids is no exception, especially considering it is the project of label head Gabe Holcombe. Recorded only with guitars and a Roland TR-66, Don't Be A Victim is a combination of an EP that only saw a small release and two unreleased tracks. On the title track, Holcombe exemplifies the Lillerne sound with dreamy, wobbling guitars and swaying vocals. - Ad Hoc
